WORK EXPERIENCE WEEKS: Summer 2016::

This is a chance to come and help out, learn some skills and share ideas for free.  We will be working on our family scale house.  There is no cost and we provide a good lunch. There are pans, plates etc, gas cooker and sink provided in our camp kitchen for your other meals (self catering). There is a shop at lammas and other shops nearby if you cannot carry all your food supplies with you Please bring a tent; torch, warm bedding; work clothes; strong shoes or boots; water bottle and any food contributions or special foods you like to eat.  There is a compost loo and a river to swim in for washing.  Please be aware, as we are not connected to mains services eg water and electric, that these resources are sometimes in abundance and sometimes not!

Travel: you are welcome to drive here, directions on the lammas website, or google SA34 0YD. We can collect people from Clunderwen train station.You are welcome to stay more than a week, up to the end of july. There are guest house details below if you do not want to camp

Wild by Design: Permaculture Design Certificate and Internship:: 1st March -1st April 2016

This is an opportunity to get extensive experience and cultivate new skills in an off-grid setting at the Lammas ecovillage. Included is a full certified Permaculture Design Course tailored for a low impact lifestyle and for people considering a One Planet Development application. You will gain experience in running a smallholding, permaculture design, natural building, food and fuel systems, animal husbandry, off grid water and electricity and more.

Investment:

£800 - £2,200 according to your own income and resources

Includes one months tuition, field trips, Permaculture Design Certificate, delicious lunch on week days and transport from railway station. You will also be able to use our woodworking facilities to try out some crafts and the garden to cultivate new plants you wish to try. Places limited to 8 participants. If you only want to attend the PDC, rather than the whole month internship, please ring to discuss.

Creating Connection ::

This workshop is available on request for groups of 4 people or more

This programme reconnects us with ourselves and the landscape, building confidence and cultivating awareness.  Join us and our friends in the beautiful and ancient wilds of West Wales for a creative exploration of the land, to learn new skills and recover our power and enthusiasm.

Activities include:

Sessions begin at 9am each day, finishing around 5pm. Seasonal, organic vegetarian lunch provided, sourced from local growers where possible.

LIVING IN THE LANDSCAPE COURSES

This is a chance to experience natural building, learn permaculture design tools for integrating a shelter with human needs (water/food/fuel) and participate in the daily life of an off-grid smallholding in the beautiful and remote wilds of West Wales.   

We will begin with a meal and welcome on the afternoon/evening of the 12th, depending on what times people arrive. We will finish around 4pm on the 18th

In the mornings there will sessions with Simon and Jasmine on theory and permaculture design tools that we use when creating a building and integrating it with food growing, water and fuel systems.  These sessions are similar to the schedule posted at the bottom of this page.  The rest of the day is working with Simon doing natural building on our land or joining Jasmine doing seasonal tasks in the gardens.  There will be plenty of time to ask questions and to bring your own ideas and projects to discuss.

ACCOMODATION and TRAVEL

Between April and October we welcome people to camp on our land for courses and work weeks. Any other time you will need to find accomodation locally or bring a camper van (maximim 3 at any time). Luckily there a 3 great options very nearby:

We are in the village of Glandwr, West Wales. Our nearest train station is CLUNDERWEN and driving directions can be found if you google the post code SA34 0YD.

Living in the Landscape timetable:

There will be space for request sessions on specific topics, browsing lots of good books and for cross pollination of ideas and projects.
